Regarding AotC and RotS canon

First off, I am an Anakin fangirl. I identify with him in many ways and feel as though the Jedi Council let him down.

I know not everybody is going to be with me on this or on the same page but there it is.


I also feel that RotS in particular did Obi-Wan Kenobi a major disservice and I find it impossible to believe that Obi-Wan would have behaved that way and certainly I find it insulting to Obi-Wan for the movie to tell us that this Jedi Master walked the fuck away from his limbless burning "brother" and then 20 years later that he lied about it blatantly to that brother's son. I just don't believe it.

I realize that probably sounds pretty arrogant and I guess it is, since I obviously didn't make up the entire story of Star Wars. However, I have lived my entire adult life with Star Wars. I was 13 when the first film came out and it has inspired me ever since. I have always wanted to know the story of Anakin Skywalker and am, to some extent, disappointed. It's true that RotS does answer quite a few questions such as how Anakin could be seduced to the Dark Side and how he came to be wearing the Vader suit but at the same time, it fucks with already existing canon to such an extent that the explanations are no longer acceptable. To me.

Therefore, I strongly suspect that a lot of what I hope to write is going to end up AU or at least partially AU. I just can't stand the idea of Obi-Wan being that clueless and then so heartless, nor can I abide the notion that Anakin could be so lost when he was not even 30 years old. I know tragedies can happen at any age but this is my shiny and so I want to write stuff that isn't tragic.
